Priyanka Muthuraman brings to life fantastic structures through her innovative sculptures, while remaining wholly original to her architectural vision. Her first love for architecture waned as her passions transmuted towards the arts, altering her path towards a creative future. 'Thus I began creating a narrative in design and this gave way to a living and breathing form of art; an art that never really dies after its first viewing. It is the idea that lives on as a discussion even after its display ends.' More akin to a conversation within the forms and the viewer, the composition becomes integral as it informs her visual philosophies on a deep level. She chooses to want more in terms of the engagement of her work, crafting a unique but elegant vision over the breadth of many mediums.
Priyanka graduated from the RV College of Architecture, Bangalore, India with a Bachelors in Architecture, and completed her M.F.A in Sculpture from the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) GA, USA.
Her recent shows include 'Parikrama' at the Lalit Kala Akademi, Chennai, (2021); 'Illusion vs Reality: The Why', Thesis Solo Show, The B-Complex Studio, (2019); Serenity at Urban Solace, Bangalore (2017); and Black, White, and Alive at UB City, Bangalore (2016).
